About this event

This is an opportunity for international students to connect with alumni, and to learn how they leveraged their strengths for a career in NZ.

Panel members

Yolanda Zhang is the Digital Marketing Specialist (China) for Antipodes. Yolanda graduated with a Master of Marketing in 2018, and then moved to Christchurch to start her marketing career. She now works in Wellington with Antipodes, in her ‘dream job’. As a Chinese living in New Zealand for over 3 years, I have a good understand of both culture. In particular, my knowledge of Chinese consumers, China social and e-commerce channels had become an advantage in my career of helping a New Zealand brand to succeed in the China market.

Miho Takamoto is a Data Assurance Associate at PwC. She joined PWC’s graduate programme this year after completing a BCom Information Systems & Operations Management. By being originally from Japan with both Japanese and South Korean background, Miho is on continuous journey of adding unique value to the team and achieving career goals.

Vicki Sai Dou is a Logistics Co-ordinator at Sifa Transit. Vicki graduated with a Master of International Business in 2019. In addition to working for Sifa, Vicki runs a part time business selling NZ health products to China. I am a hard working Chinese girl, which brings in more opportunities and business for the company that I work for.

Katherine Lee is the acting team leader of the SCM team for consumer electronics division of Samsung Electronics. Katherine joined Samsung after she graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Infosys (operations & supply chain management) and Marketing in 2018. Katherine is Korean and grew up in NZ.

Rachitha Rajendra is a Search Executive at GroupM. Rachitha joined Group M last month, after completing a Master in Marketing. She is from India and worked in a vastly different field in the past, and was initially sceptical about breaking into the marketing field in NZ. In her experiences in NZ she’s faced several stereotypes and advice that she was not comfortable taking. She is looking forward to sharing her experiences with students also trying to begin their careers in marketing.

Jeby Jacob is an Auditor at Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, based in Hawkes Bay. Jeby is from India and graduated with a Master of Professional Accounting in 2019 and is working towards his CA.

Neha Yadav is a Graduate Infrastructure Engineer at Fletcher Building. She started as an intern at Fletcher Building, after completing a degree in Masters in Information Technology. Neha was born and raised in India, and chose a career in Infotech motivated by women in STEM. She believes that learning is a lifelong process, and always tries to participate in a wide range of development programs. Neha was the only candidate in 2014 to represent India in an IT counselling programme in Arizona, USA .
